The 4 Principles of ConsciousWine were created to re-frame “organic” as a dynamic positive for you, the enjoyer of wine.

All the wineries we support adhere to these principles and have earned their place on The ConsciousWine List. No one has paid to be included.

1st Principle–Organically Grown Grapes

…means only National Organic Program approved products are allowed in the vineyards. If a winery buys grapes that are not organic, the wines made from those grapes are not included.

2nd Principle–Sustainably Farmed

Farming practices geared to support the ecological, environmental and economic sustainability of the farm. A holistic thought process protects the vitality of that land for our kids’ kids and beyond…

3rd Principle–Creating Vital Products

A vital living soil and environment are supported, leading to the creation of vital living products. Then the winemaking process supports that vitality being expressed in the finished wine so that you can actually taste it…

4th Principle–That Taste Great

Quality finished products that will make a wine lover happy, or at the very least, curious. I like to say, “It rocks!”
