2009 Cowhorn Spiral 36
Cowhorn grows 3 white grapes: Viognier, Marsanne & Roussanne. Their first vintage included separate bottlings of each of these 3 varietals. The uniqueness was delicious to smell and taste, and they’re a great fit in Spiral 36 (approximately equal parts of the 3). This wine, like most Cowhorn wines, is small production and sells out rather quickly. Once you had Spiral 36 (in any vintage), you’ll be wanting more! Listen to Jeff Weissler and Cowhorn’s Bill Steele talk Spiral 36.
As delicious as this wine was, the fruit for this wine will be heading into producing more Grenache in the years to come. Considering how little Grenache they make, this is a very good thing! Jeff Weissler & Cowhorn’s Bill Steele taste & talk dry Rose and specifically Cowhorn’s ’09 Grenache Rose.
Small production awesome find of a wine. Grab their Grenache when you can. I highly recommend getting on the list for the release of the next vintage!! Listen to Jeff Weissler and winemaker/owner Bill Steele talk about the ’08.
Jeff Weissler and Co-owner & winemaker Bill Steele sat down to taste & talk about their ’07 Syrah. The vines for this wine were first planted in 2005 and put this wine to the test by trying it after it had been opened for 2 full days.
