Tasting Wines: Montinore Estate

2009 Montinore Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley

The name Montinore means Montana in Oregon. The original owners hailed from Montana and integrated that into their Willamette Valley property’s name. Today the winery is owned by father and daughter, Rudy and Kristin Marchesi (from my original neck of the woods, New Jersey).

Here’s a short interview with wine lover extraordinaire, Beverly McKenzie (my co-conspirator on The Pairing Channel Shows: The Menu & The Wine List, and Wine & Cheese), followed by our review of one of the best valued Pinot Noirs to be found in the state of Oregon!

Tasting Wines: Dominio IV

by Jeffrey Weissler

2007 Pinot Noir, Tapis

Each wine of theirs I’ve tasted has unfolded like a good book. The first sip and smell has invoked my curiosity. A few minutes later it’s reminding me of a wound up rubber band let loose (in slow motion of course).

After I’ve moved on to go do something else, then later come back to the wine… wow. Beverly McKenzie and I adventured in to one of their Pinor Noirs.
