We’re Rebuilding the Website

Changes are in the air… ConsciousWine has a new business partner. His name is Vinny Liscio. I (Jeff W.) met him as a customer of the wine shop (Suburban Wines & Spirits in Yorktown Heights, NY) that I was the wine director of from ’98-04.

Our mission statement is to support future generations by making conscious choices today. Through the eyes of the world of wine, we will bring educational opportunities in the arenas of both basic wine education and sustainability issues.

We’ll provide videos, audio podcasts, a wines in review database, and a conscious connection section full of discounts for products and services other than wine. This is on top of guiding you to discover ConsciousWineries, and to have the opportunity to buy their wines at discounted prices. The ConsciousWIne Club will be the doorway to all this which is coming to a website near you starting in Spring 2010.

The newsletter is on temporary hold, as is the blog until the new site comes live. The newsletter will reawaken in a weekly format containing consciousness raising audio podcasts. In the meantime we recommend reading the articles already on the site, like An Agricultural Perspective, Chew On This, and A Farmer’s Market Story. Additionally we’ll be feeding our Facebook Page with regular updates.

We’ve visited wineries in California & Oregon twice over the last month, and will be on the road for more research, tasting, and filming in early December. If you want to guide your present purchases to ConsciousWineries go to The ConsciousWine List for the winery names and links to their websites. There’s a beautiful, photography filled website being designed as you read this. We’re very excited for the updates coming to ConsciousWine and to build a business that supports the consumer in feeling empowered, wineries in getting their stories and wines into the hands of conscious consumers, and creates a sustainable platform for ConsciousWine to grow and serve.

Please join the e-mail list on the Contact Us page.

Cheers,

Jeff Weissler and Vinny Liscio
