Once the idea for ConsciousWine had taken hold, the quest began to find wineries following our 4 Principles. From there, we were looking to discover their common practices. A phone conversation with Luke Bass “rocked the house” as we conversed over philosophy, practices and wine. Turning into the woods from Guerneville, California you twist and turn until you come to an opening on a hill, and almost magically, Porter Bass appears. The biodiversity around and in their farm was the main experience that led to “Biodiversity” becoming one of the 12 Practices of ConsciousWine.
