Jeff's Notes: Great aroma... melon, pear, green apple, lemon, citrus tones. The palate is so refreshing and dry with a reminder of granny smith apple. Touch of classic German "petrol" which is a common trait in German Rieslings. A cream sauce pasta (seafood in particular) would hit the spot! 780 cases made. Released each January.

The wines personality reminds me of mountain berries, dark fruits, hints of brown sugar, maple syrup, with bright acidity, and a long rich finish. A mouthful! This is tri-tip wine. Jeff's Notes:
Super mellow and approachable for a Gewurztraminer, for they can have a high level of spicy & floral intensity. This wine has some floral and spicy flavors along with a very satisfying mix of tropical & stone fruit flavors. Thai food (seafood, chicken or vegan) would be a great pairing. You’ll get happy enjoying this wine with a spicy peanut sauce. Food Alliance and Salmon Safe Certified Silver Medal winner at the 2011 Oregon Wine Awards

Jeff's Notes: Nice focused, direct style of Pinot Gris. Streamlined in both smell and taste, yet there are lots of flavors packed in there. Reminds me of fruit cocktail on the nose! Also hints of honey (yet fully dry), melon, flowers and ripe white peach. Juicy and flavorful around the acidity making this wine scream for food. Pan seared scallops with an orange beurre blanc! Yumm!!! 2011 Double Gold Medal Winner at the Oregon Wine Awards

Jeff's Notes: Super interesting orange, tangerine, apricot quality to both the aroma and the palate. This is a blend of fruit from two vineyards, half of which is from the estate. The nose makes me want Chinese food. Beautiful dryness, nice juicy acidity (reminds of grapefruit and orange), with a medium weight, and a long lingering finish. Thai and Chinese dishes, with some nice spice, would make great partners. Released each Spring.

A classic Pinot to pair with chicken, baked salmon, and other light dishes.

Jeff's Notes: Dynamic fruit comes forth on the nose accented with hints of fennel and anise. The palate is a mouth filling, mouthwatering, rustic, moody, broody experience with layers that will unveil as the wine airs out. The wine’s tannins make this a Pinot Noir that can handle filet mignon or buffalo. Sautéed wild mushrooms on top will kick up the pairing and bring out the fruitiness hidden underneath. Gold Medal winner of the 2011 Dallas Morning News Tex-Som Awards.

This is no wimpy wine! There's a depth of flavor not so typical to this dry Rosé. Mourvedre, Grenache and Counoise make up the blend. Both a richness and a lightness on the palate. Dried meats, soft cheeses, some company on the deck, and Ambyth Rose... PS: No sulfites added!

Cartagène is an excellent aperitif with a very fresh taste. A year of oak aging imparts a huge, deep aroma. Very fresh, sweet, complex palate with power and vigor. Stunning, endless aftertaste marked by intense varietal character. This is dessert, to drink by itself, but is even more divine with something chocolate. Vin de liqueur, Serve chilled!

From the Organic Wine Company: Arlindo da Costa Pinto e Cruz. What a long name for such an earthy, gentle bear of a man! We fell in love with him before we tasted his products. But believe us, if you're anything of a Port drinker, you won't be disappointed! This Port has simply no competition, period. This is a fine example of what this beautiful country is capable of. Touriga Francesa and Tinta Roriz, the two varietals used to produce this Vintage Character, blend harmoniously in a long velvety symphony of tastes that deserve your time and attention. From the Winery:
Maiestas (latin: majesty, dignity), You're greeted with the classical deep, dark color of Syrah in your glass. The aroma mirrors the appearance: deep and dark and wonderfully fruity, we find a beautiful expression of lavender aromas. This Syrah based wine has its own sweet fruit, but different from the cherry-like fruit of Grenache, it is more of the rich earthy, brooding fruit that has depth and great dimension with an incredible lingering after taste. The acidity is admirable, and the flavors are delightful.

Jeff's Notes: Great old vine vineyard tended by Dai Crisp (Lumos). Awesome aromatics, red fruited, floral tones, little bit of smokiness. From the Winery:
Bright fruit aromatics range from grapefruit, mango, to apricot, leading to a flavor palate of lemon, grapefruit, apricot and tropical fruit. Its texture gives way to a wonderfully smooth and round finish that is easy to drink sitting out on the front deck. With a little higher acidity, it is very crisp with a soft, clean finish. This wine has excellent balance for drinking by itself at cool temperatures or with cheeses, bread, and a light virgin olive oil.
Youngberg Hill 6bottle/$69 minimum
From the Winery: The aromatics begin with asian pear, grapefruit and lime citrus. The fruit flavors of lime, grapefruit, and citrus are distinct and crisp. It has a creaminess that makes the wine melt in your mouth and lingers. The rich, buttery, full flavors will keep you coming back for another sip. The 2011 vintage is a wonderful complement to food with a crab cake being a favorite.

Jeff's Notes: Patience young Skywalker! A treat is in store. Opening a bottle fresh and expecting the first sip to be great… that can happen, but if you’re patient, the wine will develop layers, lengthen in it’s lingering, expand in its juiciness, and be great with grilled sausages (especially gamier ones). Having it open for 1, 2, 3 and even 4 days will create magic! Or,… age it a year before opening the wine. Released each October.
